I have learned some VERY valuable skills with photoshop. I have played around with my new skills and here is what I have got.

I am really excited about all the things I am learning and all the fun pictures I will cherish for so many years!! I hope to become a photographer that creates photos that others will cherish too.

Kim's Maternity Photos

I just love taking pictures!!! My friends and family have provided me with sooooo many different photo opportunities to get some practice. I still have a lot to learn, photoshop especially, but I am having a lot of fun learning!! My sister Kim is 36 weeks pregnant and just as beautiful as ever! We had fun taking these pictures but it was also a challenge for me too because of stretch marks from previous pregnancies, since I don't know photoshop yet, we got creative. (That is the reason for the lack of color pictures)

Playing in the water

Jason was out doing yard work and Camden got a hold of the hose. He was so cute and curious and especially loved drinking from it. Here are some pictures I took.

Jaxton Timothy

A few weeks ago I went to Montana and got to take pictures of her 6 week old baby boy. I had so much fun even though he pooped on our back drop and peed several times on the blankets! I guess that is what you get when work with little babies!

My cute grandparents...

My grandparents came to my sister's wedding and I just had to get a picture of them. They have been married for 53 years and are such an example and inspiration to me. I love this picture because this is them, they are always holding hands and will forever be holding hands, through this life and the next. My favorite memory of them is when it was my (and all of my other cousin's) birthday, they would take us to Leatherby's for ice cream, then we would go sleep over at their house and go to church with them. I remember always noticing after we would say prayer before any meal, they would kiss. I truly believe they are just as in love after 53 years as they were their first year of marriage. I hope that Jason and I can grow together the way they have and that our children and grandchildren strive to be like us because of our example of love, selflessness and spirituality. I love you guys!!!

Laura's Wedding

I am pretty late at posting this pictures. I just got done editing them and I am really excited how they turned out.

My little Hero

Today I took the kids to the neighborhood pool. On a normal day at the pool Camden wanders around with his arm floaties on and Kyson has a life vest he wears. Kaysia is really good at swimming and is very careful to not go where she can't touch. I was hanging out by the kiddie pool when my friend starts shouting at me, "MELLISA, MELLISA!" I look around me and Camden is right there, but it wasn't Camden she was wanting me to save. I look into the big pool and Kaysia is trying to get above water but can't. Before I could, another neighbor jumped in the pool, clothes and all and when I finally got over there she had two kids in her arms. I grabbed Kaysia and hugged her and asked her why she was where she couldn't touch. She was of course very frazzled and crying and said to me, "Mommy he was drowning, I tried to save him, but mommy he was so heavy and I couldn't touch!" Of course I start bawling. She is so brave!!! Here I have taught her, her boundaries at the pool and how to stay floating but I never thought I would need to teach my 5 year old how to save another kid. I explained to her that when a kid is drowning and needs help she needs to scream so me or another adult can save them, that she is too little to save kids. Her response was, "Mommy, I was just trying to be a good friend and save his life." Her bravery and selflessness was amazing today. Even though she knew she couldn't touch where he was she saw someone who needed help and nothing else mattered! I love her so much, and that love grew a little more today! I am very proud of her!
